During every September, the Marietta Parks and Recreation Department sponsors a Brown Bag Concert Series at the bandstand in Marietta Square. The first concert this year was held on Thursday, September 2nd at noon.
These free lunch-time concerts will be held every Thursday during the month of September weather permitting at the bandstand at the north end of Marietta Square.
So, if you enjoy music, bring your lunch and enjoy hearing local musicians "do their thing" on stage. Bring your friends, your children and your co-workers if you work in the area.
This year's performers include:
•September 2: Joy Parkman (worship)
•September 9: Beulah Land Gospel Band (gospel)
•September 16: Bob Geresti (piano)
•September 23: Sonya Shell (country)
•September 30: Tortoise and Hair (acoustic guitar)
The Brown Bag Concert series is just one more attribute that makes Marietta such a fine place to live and work and raise your family.

When we visited Marietta to see my brother, we happened upon one of these concerts. The performers, and the park itself, were both delightful.
Thnaks for reminding me of an enjoyable time.
I read the article and then the link to the info on Marietta Square. Enjoyed it. Thanks for the info. I'll check it out when I'm in Marietta GA next month
Nice place. I'm so glad I moved here to marietta. This place is just plain wonderful -- so much to see and do
Used to live in Atlanta and then moved to Marietta before coming to Florida to care for parents. I loved both of them but Marietta seems to me to have more to offer young families
Can't say enough nice things about Marietta. Thanks
MARIETTA IS ONE OF OUR FAVORITE STOPS ON THE WAY FROM OHIO DOWN TO SARASOTA FLORIDA EACH WINTER.
