The Marietta Square Farmers Market just completed it's most succesful year ever. While it just closed, it will re-open next year on May 2, 2009 and be located on the Historic Marietta Square on North Park Square, between Shillings Restaurant and The Strand Theater.
The Marietta Farmer's Market offers fresh vegetable and muchh more, most of which is grown within 10 miles of the market. With about 48 - 50 vendors, customers have lots to choose from including heirloom tomatoes, fruits and vegetables, like squashes that are rarely available from the grocery store. The Farmers Market also offers staples like potatoes, onions, tomatoes, squash, beans, flower arrangements, local honey, herbal soaps, whole grain breads, fudge, fresh pies, as well as jellies jams and preserves.
Customers can also take home many live garden and herb plants and fresh-squeezed lemonade. Reportedly, 75% of the produce available at the market is grown from within 10 miles, and the rest within 50 miles.
If you visit Marietta, the Farmer's Market is certainly worth a stop. It is open every Saturday morning from May through August from 9AM until noon. If you live in the Marietta GA area, you shouldn't miss this outstanding weekly example of both home-grown produce and Georgia hospitality.

Jordan is correct. We have a farmer's market here in Sarasota but the Marietta Farmer's Market is "tops" in my mind. A great way to spend a Saturday morning whenever we isit relatives in Marietta.
